Perhaps even more influential than my formal training:

  • Meditation practice since 1975 (started with transcendental meditation, or TM)
  • Long-term student of Buddhist/mindfulness practices and perspectives
  • Student of shamanic/indigenous perspectives and practices

Somatic Experiencing (2 years of the 3 year training)

Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Training (2 yr), various retreats, and coursework in applying mindfulness to psychotherapy.

I’ve worked in a variety of settings including a wilderness therapy program for teens, community mental health, Western Psychological and Counseling, Portland Trauma Recovery, and private practice — and have also received long-term experiential training in parenting from my now-adult son.
