About me
Thirty-two years walking alongside people in healing
My orientation is informed not only by my professional training, but from my own personal search for what works in navigating healing for myself, my clients, and my many teachers throughout the years.
Professional experience
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) since 1998
- 32 years of pre and post-graduate school experience
- Specialty in trauma & dissociation
Training
- EMDR therapist since 2000
- IFS (level 1)
- Somatic Experiencing (2 years of the 3 year training)
- Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Training (2 yr), various retreats and additional coursework in applying mindfulness to psychotherapy.
I’ve worked in a variety of settings including a wilderness therapy program for teens, community mental health, Western Psychological and Counseling, Portland Trauma Recovery, and private practice — and have also received long-term experiential training in parenting from my now-adult son.
Spiritual study
Perhaps even more influential than my formal training:
- Meditation practice since 1975 (started with transcendental meditation, or TM)
- Student of Buddhist/mindfulness practices and perspectives
- Student of shamanic/indigenous perspectives and practices
Meditation & practice
A long-term student of meditation and contemplative practice.
